Overview: Our St Helens Epic Course takes you on some of the most scenic and remote trails on Mt St Helens. Don’t consider this event unless you are a hard-core endurance rider with excellent navigation/map reading and wilderness skills. read about scouting this route here
Route: The ride starts at Swift Forest Camp on the East end of Swift Reservoir. It starts by taking NF-2588 (gravel road) 12 miles before getting on Ape Canyon Trail and taking that 10 miles across Plains of Abraham and Windy Ridge. At Windy Ridge viewpoint, it gets on NF-99 (paved) for 12 miles to Bear Meadow. At Bear Meadow, it takes the Boundary Trail about 14 miles to Craggy Peak Trail. It takes Craggy Peak Trail and Wright Meadow Trail 12 miles down to the fantastic Lewis River Trail. It travels the length of the Lewis River Trail about 11 miles to Curly Creek Road and then takes NF-90 (paved) about 7 miles back to the start.

Water on the Course: There are various places on the course where you can get water from streams. You should carry some form of water purification or filtration.
Directions to the Start: Swift Forest Campround is at the East end of the Swift Reservoir. From the I-5 Woodland, Washington Exit #21 take Highway 503 East, approximately 50 miles to Swift Forest Campground.
